Nov 2007

It's been a fantastic time for AMMO PREVIZ, our clip "Reality Hacker" impressed the U.K. manufacurer of the previz technology we use so much that they commissioned us to create a showcase item for thier website!

The U.S. office of this same software company requested us to provide material for a CBS news story.

I created a blog to share our previz tips and techniques, and enjoyed over 400 hits!

The Machinima website Machniplex, loved our "Looking Back" clip and asked us to particpate in their exclusive webcast.

To create hype for "Looking Back" we created a viral campaign based on a pretend stalker being sued by the actress of the clip!

U.S.A. pop band "Selfish Gene" gave us the freedom to create a 2001 themed clip for their cool song "Autopilot"

The Eleventh Soldier http://www.cinemascorestudios.com/theeleventhsoldier/

The project is a film entitled "The Eleventh Solider" which is a non-fictional story set in Vietnam. It follows the lives of Australian soldiers who have to overcome adversity in a struggle to rescue a member of their squad. An entire solider encampment with roads and structures has been built on location in Perth, Western Australia where a select portion of the Film was shot. The director of this feature, Barish Erogul, was looking for a way of creating the mood and atmosphere he desired and to get the actors in the same mindset. The scene that was created using Ammo was a good point of reference and an excellent example for the style guide.

The location of the scene involves a creek which the men travel down before starting ashore. They then approach a watch tower in the dead of the night. The director sketched out a mud map and three key frames. We mapped out the river layout and the forest terrain based on real world estimates. Then, with the soldiers placed in three boats, they could be directed to float down the stream, through the reeds and then head off toward the watch tower.

The previz helped the director, consider camera positions and to establish style references for many departments, including camera and lighting, sound and score.
